Solidarity Message from Mission Analytics Group, Inc.

June 19, 2020

On this Juneteenth 2020, Mission Analytics Group, Inc. (Mission) would like to reflect on the recent tragedies that have occurred in our country. First, we acknowledge that these events are not new occurrences and that violence disproportionately affects the Black community. These tragic deaths are symptomatic of the systemic racism in the United States. To the Black community, you are justified in your pain, hopelessness, fear and emotional fatigue. We recognize that many in this country have been privileged to be blind to your experiences. This blindness has perpetuated systemic racism for far too long.

Acts of injustice against Black Americans –those we have witnessed against Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, Ahmaud Arbery, Atatiana Jefferson, and those that went unwitnessed against countless others – are unconscionable. Black Americans have contributed to the prosperity of our nation and are an integral part of American history. The United States prides itself in being a country of diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and equality. We must acknowledge that Black Americans and allies have rebelled, marched, boycotted, and conducted sit-ins and were jailed, beaten, and murdered to ensure that the United States is a more equitable country.

Mission stands in solidarity with the recent demonstrations to promote systemic change in this country. We understand the importance of intersectionality of systemic issues in our country and support Black people of ALL identities. We have committed to working with a partner organization to have a larger impact on the community and to make donations to organizations that work with the Black Lives Matter movement and other organizations that focus on racial equity. We are also working internally to empower our employees of color and promote more cultural responsiveness and inclusion in our organization.

We call on the larger community, as well as ourselves and our colleagues, to educate themselves on systemic racism and how it affects communities of color, to challenge their racial biases, and to have uncomfortable conversations about racism in America. Although our country has removed many overt signs of segregation and made crucial policy changes, we did not change the inherent unfairness in the system or the hearts and minds of those who passed racist ideologies to future generations. We simply gave oppression a different manifestation. Our system continues to fail communities of color.

The time is past due for us all to stand with the Black community in calls for change. Mission is committed, now and going forward, to doing our duty to promote equity and be a part of the solution.
